Armand de Brignac Champagne — Premier Cru, Maison Cattier since 1625
Armand de Brignac was founded in 2006 as the realisation of Jean-Jacques Cattier’s vision; his winemaking family has had deep roots in the Montagne de Reims since 1625 — thirteen generations sharing the same devotion to the Champagne terroir. Across 33 hectares, the majority of which are classified as Premier Cru, spread between Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses and Ludes, the house cultivates Champagne’s three iconic grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. As early as 2009, a major blind tasting organised by FINE Champagne Magazine crowned it number one out of over a thousand brands assessed — long before it gained any wider public recognition. Armand de Brignac’s uniqueness stems from an uncompromising method: only the first press is selected, blended from three distinct vintages, and the cuvée is refined in new French oak barrels for twelve months. A champagne that makes no apologies for its high standards.
