In Avize, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Bouquin Dupont Fils has been cultivating Chardonnay vineyards on Champagne’s most highly regarded terroirs since 1929. Founded by Paul Émile Dupont, this grower-producer house crafts champagnes of rare precision from a 1.60-hectare vineyard spread across three Grand Cru terroirs: Avize (1 ha), Cramant (0.30 ha) and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (0.30 ha). On these exceptional chalky slopes, the Chardonnay develops a minerality and tension characteristic of the Côte des Blancs. Depending on the cuvée, vinification alternates between demi-muids, 228-litre oak barrels and stainless-steel vats, yielding an aromatic palette of remarkable diversity for a single grape variety. A little-known house, faithful to the exacting standards of the great terroirs.
