Éric Taillet Champagne — The Art of Pure Meunier in the Marne Valley
In Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, on the slopes of the Marne Valley, the Éric Taillet estate upholds a conviction that is rare in the Champagne region: Meunier deserves to be vinified on its own, with the ambition and rigour reserved for the greatest crus. Since 1956, the Taillet-Régnier family has been cultivating this grape variety, which is all too often confined to a role in blends, and has brought out its full complexity — a rounded fruitiness, gentle spices and lingering freshness. As founder ofthe Institut du Meunier, Éric Taillet has helped to restore this grape variety to the centre of the Champagne debate, well beyond the valley’s borders. His champagnes, made using indigenous yeasts, without filtration or cold stabilisation, are a testament to craftsmanship: each cuvée reflects the deep harmony between the winemaker, his clay-limestone soils and the pure expression of 100% Meunier.

Éric Taillet’s wines — Terroir, precision, character
The Exclusiv'T Collection is the ideal introduction to the world of Taillet: a generous and approachable 100% Meunier, perfect as an aperitif or with artisanal charcuterie. As for the Grand Marais and Le Bois de Binson – two single-vineyard wines of remarkable precision – they come into their own with pan-fried scallops, poultry with mushrooms or a creamy risotto. The Bansionensi range — named after the ancient Latin name for Baslieux — features the house’s vintage wines, best enjoyed with a platter of mature cheeses, meat in a sauce or a dish of wild mushrooms, where the depth of the Meunier reveals its full potential.
Served at between 8 and 10 °C in a slightly flared glass, the Éric Taillet cuvées fully release their notes of red berries, brioche and sweet spices. The Bansionensi vintage champagnes offer excellent ageing potential — up to 8 to 10 years in a cool, dark cellar — for connoisseurs wishing to follow the evolution of a terroir-driven champagne.

Éric Taillet — Five generations of dedicated winegrowers
The Taillet-Régnier estate was founded in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon in 1956, forging a distinctive identity centred on the Meunier grape from the very outset. Five generations have succeeded one another on this clay-limestone terroir in the Marne Valley, honing an intimate understanding of each plot. Today, Dylan and Léna represent the next generation, carrying on the family legacy with renewed rigour and a focus on sustainability.
In the cellar, the philosophy is one of total respect: the musts ferment with their indigenous yeasts, without synthetic yeasts, filtration or cold stabilisation, which would deplete the wine’s character. The estate cultivates its vines without herbicides and holds HVE and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne certifications — ensuring complete consistency from vineyard to bottle.

Your questions about Éric Taillet champagnes
What makes Éric Taillet’s champagnes unique amongst Champagne winegrowers?
Éric Taillet is one of the few winemakers to produce his entire range from 100 per cent Meunier, without blending in Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. As the founder of the Institut du Meunier, he has helped to restore the reputation of this historically underrated grape variety. His winemaking process, which uses indigenous yeasts and involves no filtration or chill filtration, ensures Champagnes of a level of authenticity and precision that are hard to find elsewhere.
What food and wine pairings go well with Éric Taillet champagnes?
The Exclusiv'T Collection is ideal as an aperitif, served with fine charcuterie or salmon verrines. The single-vineyard wines ‘Sur le Grand Marais’ and ‘Le Bois de Binson’ pair well with scallops, lobster or poultry in sauce. The Bansionensi vintage wines bring out the best in mature cheeses, mushrooms and roasted white meats. The Rosae Bansionensi vintage pairs beautifully with strawberries, raspberries and fruity desserts.
How should Éric Taillet champagnes be served and stored?
Serve Éric Taillet wines at between 8 and 10 °C, in a slightly flared stemmed glass, which allows the aromas to develop better than a traditional flute. Store the bottles horizontally in a cellar at 12 °C, away from light and vibrations. Non-vintage wines are best enjoyed within 3 to 5 years; Bansionensi vintage wines can be cellared for 8 to 10 years under optimal conditions.

Are Éric Taillet’s champagnes produced using certified sustainable viticulture?
Yes. The estate is certified as having High Environmental Value (HVE) and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC), and cultivates its vines without herbicides. These commitments reflect a consistent approach from vineyard to cellar, in line with the expectations of wine lovers who care about the origin and environmental impact of their champagnes.
Which Éric Taillet wine should you choose as a gift or to mark a special occasion?
The Exclusiv'T Collection is ideal as an introductory gift or for a festive aperitif. For a gourmet meal, the single-vineyard wines ‘Sur le Grand Marais’ or ‘Le Bois de Binson’ are the perfect choice. For a prestigious gift or to build up a wine cellar, the Bansionensi vintages or the 3 MilléSime Decem Gift Set offer collector’s appeal and excellent ageing potential.
