The composition

Terroirs
A blend drawing on seven crus of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs — Ludes, Nogent-l'Abbesse, Bethon, Verzy, Vertus, Épernay and Sermiers — built on a 2021 harvest base, enriched by half with a Perpetual Reserve begun in 2012, whose oldest wine dates back to 2009.
About this house
Founded in 1868 in Ludes, at the heart of the Montagne de Reims, through the union of Victor Canard and Léonie Duchêne — a vigneronne whose name now graces the Léonie cuvée — the house of Canard-Duchêne made its mark in the late nineteenth century by becoming one of the suppliers to Tsar Nicholas II.
Based at the Domaine de Ludes and, since 2004, under the aegis of the Alain Thiénot group, the house continues a generous style upheld by a Perpetual Reserve policy, ensuring the aromatic consistency of its cuvées from one year to the next.
