The 1995 vintage, sun-drenched and beautifully ripe, provided a raw material of remarkable richness and balance.
About this house
Founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck — the flamboyant 'Champagne Charlie' who conquered the United States on horseback — this Reims house is one of the most iconic in all of Champagne. Renowned for the depth of its blends, which systematically incorporate reserve wines aged up to ten years, it was crowned 'Best Champagne Producer in the World' by Wine Enthusiast in 2010.
The Collection Crayères is the absolute jewel of the house: these vintage champagnes have slumbered for decades within the 8 km of Gallo-Roman galleries that wind beneath Reims in perfect darkness and cool. Disgorged in the summer of 2017 after 21 years on lees, this 1995 vintage represents a one-of-a-kind archival treasure, offered in the most confidential of quantities.
