TASTING NOTES
Pale gold in the glass, with lively, luminous reflections. The nose is complex and precise, weaving together ripe white-fleshed fruits, white flowers and a delicate spiced note over a subtle oaky backdrop from nine months in barrel. The palate is broad yet taut, driven by a remarkable saline minerality that reveals the purity of the terroir in a long, chalky finish.
The composition

Terroirs
The Sur le Grand Marais plot (0.76 ha) in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon sits on ancient marshland with clay-marl and siliceous soils, enclosed by a hedgerow of 600 beech trees. The unique co-planting of Meunier (90%) and Chardonnay (10%), harvested together in a single picking, expresses a vision of terroir as something living and coherent.
About this house
Éric Taillet is an independent grower based in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne — historic heartland of Pinot Meunier. The heir to a long family tradition of winegrowing, he tends his vines without chemical herbicides, relying instead on mechanical ploughing and organic treatments, always seeking to reveal the singularity of soils long overlooked by the wider Champagne world.
A committed advocate of uncompromising terroir-driven Champagne, Éric Taillet employs barrel ageing, plot-level co-plantings and extended lees ageing. His cuvées, acclaimed by leading sommeliers and independent wine merchants, have lastingly rehabilitated Meunier as a variety of true distinction — one fully capable of holding its own against the finest Champagne assemblages.
The perfect pairing
Aperitif
The Brut Nature's vivacity and saline minerality pair beautifully with the buttery lightness of warm gougères.
Starter
The mineral tension and citrus freshness of the Brut Nature make an elegant match for gravlax dressed with fresh herbs.
Main course
The subtle oak of the barrel ageing and the generous texture of the Meunier embrace the earthy, creamy richness of a morel mushroom risotto.
