TASTING NOTES

Pale golden robe with green highlights, fine and persistent bead. On the nose, white florality (hawthorn, apple blossom), ripe pear and gentle citrus lifted by a honeyed, brioche-like touch. On the palate, the attack is lively and saline, the silky texture stretching across notes of green apple and chalk into a long, taut finish — the hallmark of zero dosage.

Terroirs

Sourced from the Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils of the Côte des Bar (Aube), closely related in nature to the great terroirs of Chablis. The blend incorporates around 34% reserve wines aged in oak foudres, lending depth and continuity to the house style.

Fleury

About this house

Fleury Père & Fils, based in Courteron in the Côte des Bar (Aube), is the undisputed pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne. As early as 1989, Jean-Pierre Fleury converted all 15 hectares of his estate to the principles of Rudolf Steiner — a visionary approach, long singular within an appellation wedded to synthetic chemistry. The house is now fully certified AB and Demeter across the entire vineyard.

His children carry forward this total commitment: natural ground cover, biodynamic preparations, and vinification with minimal intervention. La Fleur de l'Europe, launched in 1992 in tribute to the construction of a united Europe, remains the emblem of this philosophy: allowing the Kimmeridgian terroir to speak for itself, without artifice.
