0,75L

The 2013 Clos Cazals Vieille Vigne comes from the oldest vines at Clos Cazals, planted in the 1950s by Delphine Cazals’s grandfather. This 100% Chardonnay single-vineyard wine reveals the full richness of the 100% Oger terroir, enhanced by a delicate aging in oak barrels and over 10 years of aging in a vaulted cellar. It is a refined, elegant, and complex champagne, blending notes of white flowers and citrus with a refined roundness enhanced by a subtle dosage between Extra-Brut and Brut Nature, depending on the vintage. An exceptional cuvée that expresses the purity, maturity, and personality of Clos Cazals.

Terroirs

Côte des Blancs

Clos Cazals Vieille Vigne 2013 draws its excellence from the exceptional terroir of Oger, a Grand Cru village in the Côte des Blancs, on deep chalky soils that bring minerality, freshness and finesse. Cultivated on vines dating back to the 1950s in a traditional "clos", this terroir benefits from a unique microclimate that protects the grapes and promotes optimal ripeness. This combination of soil, exposure and old vines enables the Chardonnay to develop its full aromatic complexity, producing an elegant, pure and deeply expressive Champagne.

About this house

Founded in Mesnil-sur-Oger in 1897 by Ernest Cazals, a cooper from the Hérault region of France, Maison Cazals is a family-run business that is emblematic of the Côte des Blancs region. It has been run by three generations, including Claude Cazals, who in 1968 invented the gyropalette, a revolutionary machine that automates the riddling of champagne bottles. Today, the company is run by Delphine Cazals, Ernest's great-granddaughter, who carries on the family tradition with a respectful approach to the environment and a commitment to excellence. The 3.7-hectare vineyard is located in the Grand Cru region and planted exclusively with Chardonnay, producing wines of exceptional purity and finesse.
