Maison Geoffroy is one of the few houses to produce its Rosé Champagne using the “saignée” method, by macerating Pinot Noirs with their skins. After a few hours of contact, the juice takes on a naturally intense and luminous color, revealing subtle yet deep aromas of red fruits. This saignée rosé remains a true rarity in Champagne.
The ruby-red color of this Rosé de Saignée immediately charms the eye. On the nose, this champagne reveals a springtime bouquet of rose, wild strawberry, raspberry and blackberry, offering aromas of rare finesse for a Champagne rosé. On the palate, the richness of Pinot Noir continues, with an assertive structure that leaves a seductive vinosity on the finish. Thanks to its lively freshness, this Champagne Rosé de Saignée is best enjoyed young, to fully appreciate its bright notes of crunchy red berries.
Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne.
The Rosé de Saignée de la Maison Geoffroy draws its unique character from exceptional terroirs located mainly in Cumières and Damery, in the Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne. These clay-limestone and chalky soils, combined with ideal exposure, offer perfect conditions for Pinot Noir, the king grape variety of this rosé. The soil's mineral richness and temperate microclimate enable balanced ripening of the grapes, giving the wine structure, freshness and aromatic intensity. This precise, lively terroir is the source of the Rosé de Saignée's finesse and depth, reflecting all the uniqueness of the Maison Geoffroy.
Maison René Geoffroy is the heir to generations of family know-how in Cumières, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Driven by a philosophy of craftsmanship and respect for the living world, the vines are cultivated using the "lutte raisonnée" method, with particular attention paid to soil work and biodiversity. Each cuvée is conceived as a sincere reflection of the terroir, with parcel-by-parcel vinification and, often, barrel ageing. True to its independence and identity, Geoffroy produces champagnes of character, precise, vibrant and deeply rooted in their origins.
