Tasting

Pol Roger Brut Réserve has a beautiful straw-yellow color and abundant, fine effervescence. The nose is powerful and engaging, initially revealing fruity aromas (pear, mango, etc.), followed by light hints of honeysuckle and white jasmine, then brioche and vanilla. Behind a frank, dynamic attack, the wine offers harmony and pleasant freshness, while displaying a certain structure. On the palate, flavors of cooked fruit (quince jelly, apricot jam) sit happily alongside fragrances of beeswax and acacia honey. Fruity notes (candied orange zest, tangerine, etc.) and spicy notes (cardamom, green anise) combine to produce a remarkable aromatic persistence.

Terroirs

Its blend evolves each year, maintaining the authenticity of the Pol Roger style harvest after harvest. Each year, however, we find around a third of each of the three main grape varieties of Champagne: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. After clarification at 8°C, a technique that only the Pol Roger brand uses, the wines are fermented in separate cuvées according to their origin, in order to preserve the wine's primary aromas. This cuvée is aged for a minimum of 3 years in the cellars of the Pol Roger house in Epernay.
