Les Chemins d'Avize is a cuvée that reflects the excellence of the Avize terroir and the purity of the Chardonnay grape. This champagne of great finesse and complexity is perfect for lovers of refined champagnes, with beautiful minerality and delicate aromas. It is an elegant wine, perfect with fish dishes, seafood or fresh cheeses.
Eye
The color is pale yellow with golden highlights, bright and luminous. The bubbles are fine and persistent, forming a delicate mousse when shaken.
Nose
The nose is expressive and refined, with aromas of white flowers and white fruit (apple, pear), accompanied by mineral notes and hints of brioche due to barrel ageing.
Palate
The attack is fresh and vibrant, with a creamy texture and lively acidity that give it good length. Fresh fruit aromas mingle with a mineral touch, leaving a fresh, precise finish.
LES CHEMINS D'AVIZE completes the range of singular champagnes (mono-cru). This approach began in 1988 with Vieille Vigne de Cramant, then completed in 1995 with Terre de Vertus and in 1999 with Rosé de Saignée.
Pierre and Sophie had long known that the Avize terroir deserved a unique cuvée. It was in 2009, thanks to the acquisition of a smaller press, that these 2 parcels were isolated. They are located in the heart of the village of Avize, in the "Chemin de Plivot" and "Chemin de Flavigny" districts. The soil here is very poor, with outcrops of chalk. The 60-year-old vines derive their delicate floral character and unique mineral density from this soil.
Larmandier-Bernier is a family-run company based in Vertus, in the CĂ´te des Blancs region, specializing in terroir Champagnes. Run by Pierre and Sophie Larmandier, it has been practicing biodynamics for over 20 years, cultivating its vines without herbicides or chemical fertilizers to reveal the minerality of the chalky soils. Vinified with indigenous yeasts and aged in barrels and foudres, her Champagnes combine purity, precision and elegance. A benchmark among great winemakers' Champagnes.
