La Grande Dame 2015 is an exceptional sunny vintage for a wine full of tension and elegance. It reveals this great wine’s verticality thanks to the Pinot Noirs harvested from historical Grands Crus.
Explore Italian artist Paola Paronetto’s take on La Grande Dame, a chromatic symphony that echoes the harmony of our 2015 vintage. This limited edition of six unique boxes is available in one of 6 random colors.
TENSION, PRECISION, PURITY
The tension between the precision of Pinot Noir and the sunny character of the vintage is expressed in this new cuvée, bringing depth and character. Spices - pepper, nutmeg, cloves - mingle with notes of red fruit, to which are added floral touches of rose and violet.
Grande Dame Rosé 2015 draws its nobility from a rigorous selection of Champagne's emblematic Grands Crus. Primarily from the Montagne de Reims - notably Aÿ, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay and Bouzy - these limestone terroirs give the Pinot Noir, the cuvée's majority grape variety, all its power, finesse and depth. Chardonnay, from the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger), brings freshness, elegance and tension. The blend is enhanced by a still red wine from Bouzy, which givesthe wine its rosy color and fruity structure. This marriage of prestigious crus gives birth to a champagne of character, both intense and delicate, with remarkable mineral complexity.
The Veuve Clicquot estate covers 393 hectares of land, exclusively devoted to growing grapes to supply the house. The vineyards are well distributed throughout the finest crus, including 12 of the 17 Grands Crus and 18 of the 44 Premiers Crus.
Its viticultural characteristics and the quality of the grapes obtained have resulted in an exceptional average classification of almost 96%. Most of the vines are planted on hillsides, benefiting from shallow soil and optimal sunshine.
