The Structure
Discover the structure of this Champagne
Freshness
Harmonious balance between the various components of acidity.
Roundness
Supple, easy-drinking champagne, the acidity doesn't clash with the palate.
Power
Generous champagne with great intensity.
Long on the palate
Champagne aromas linger on the palate.
Tasting
A sparkling green-gold glow, with fine, distinguished bubbles, heralds its delicate refinement.
Once the first aromas of sandalwood and cedar have been exhaled, an expressive, gourmand bouquet of gingerbread, orange blossom and dried apricot emerges. On the finish, cocoa and licorice shift to a livelier, more mineral tone of bergamot.
Straightforward yet satiny, its exemplary purity is expressed by notes of peony blossom, hawthorn and brown sugar. Then its taut, precise freshness with infinite length asserts aromas of gingerbread.

Terroirs
Montagne de Reims
Rare Champagne breaks codes by choosing chardonnays from the Montagne de Reims, essentially known for pinot noir, which bring an incredible, precise minerality.
It also favors Montagne de Reims Pinot Noirs, rich in velvety intensity and pure, silky texture.

About this house
To mark the centenary of the presentation of Piper-Heidsieck 's first prestige cuvée to Queen Marie-Antoinette, a limited series of bottles was produced in 1885: the Cuvée du Centenaire. Pierre-Karl Fabergé, jeweler to Tsar Alexander III, designed the spectacular enamel decoration.
Unfortunately, the techniques of the time did not allow it to be executed, as the glass in the bottles was too fragile. A label faithfully reproducing the design was affixed to the bottles of this exclusive edition. This centenary cuvée foreshadows Rare Champagne.
L'Accord Parfait

Desserts
For dessert, opt for something fruity like a stewed pear with hazelnut shortbread.
Chef's word

Les Accords Rares promises an exceptional gastronomic experience, imagined by Michelin-starred chef Édouard Chouteau.
Following the seasons, Édouard Chouteau has created multiple food/wine pairings that perfectly match the latest vintages of Rare Champagne. A round of flavors, both delicious and refined.
The Chef has imagined his perfect match: golden caviar and zucchini to accompany the Rare Millésime 2008 vintage.
