Freshness
Harmonious balance between the various components of acidity.
Roundness
Supple, easy-drinking champagne, the acidity doesn't clash with the palate.
Power
Generous champagne with great intensity.
Long on the palate
Champagne aromas linger on the palate.
Tasting
In a fine, joyful effervescence, the intensity of the crystalline gold color is reminiscent of a yellow diamond.
On the nose, the rectilinear purity of this vintage is vivid. As it warms in the glass, Rare Millésime 2008 unfolds infinitely fragrant accords of orange blossom, hyacinth and white flowers. This is followed by vanilla blossom, a touch of fresh coconut, and aromas of Williams pear and almond.
On the palate, aromatic sensations multiply: notes of fresh, just-cut pineapple, passion fruit, kiwi, coconut and tangy citrus. Finally, the remarkable, iodized finish, punctuated by salinity, prolongs this discovery of pure, infinite spring.

Terroirs
Montagne de Reims
Rare Champagne breaks codes by choosing chardonnays from the Montagne de Reims, essentially known for pinot noir, which bring an incredible, precise minerality.
It also favors Montagne de Reims Pinot Noirs, rich in velvety intensity and pure, silky texture.
About this house
To mark the centenary of the presentation of Piper-Heidsieck 's first prestige cuvée to Queen Marie-Antoinette, a limited series of bottles was produced in 1885: the Cuvée du Centenaire. Pierre-Karl Fabergé, jeweler to Tsar Alexander III, designed the spectacular enamel decoration.
Unfortunately, the techniques of the time did not allow it to be executed, as the glass in the bottles was too fragile. A label faithfully reproducing the design was affixed to the bottles of this exclusive edition. This centenary cuvée foreshadows Rare Champagne.

This 2008 vintage goes well with vegetarian dishes such as Sabayon with mint and candied peppers, or Mille feuilles de sarrasin with seaweed and ribot milk chantilly.
Desserts
For dessert, choose milk chocolate and exotic fruits such as mango or passion fruit.
