Freshness

Harmonious balance between the various components of acidity.

Roundness

Supple, easy-drinking champagne , the acidity doesn't clash in the mouth.

Power

Generous champagne with great intensity.

Long on the palate

Champagne aromas linger on the palate.

Tasting

L'Apôtre's color is a brilliant golden hue, animated by a fine, energetic effervescence.

The first impression on the nose is one of aromatic intensity, marked by notes of ripe yellow fruit and citrus zest. On aeration, more complex aromas emerge, evoking brioche, toasted almonds and a delicate touch of honey.

On the palate, L'Apôtre seduces with its depth and precision. The attack is ample, revealing candied fruit flavors supported by a lively mineral framework. The rich, structured mid-palate gives way to a lingering, taut, saline finish, the signature of the Trépail terroir from which this cuvée is made.

Terroirs

Montagne de Reims,
Trépail

Cuvée L'Apôtre is made from Chardonnay grown exclusively on the Montagne de Reims terroir of Trépail, and more specifically on the emblematic "La Pierre Saint-Martin" plot, classified as a Premier Cru. The vines are cultivated according to the rigorous principles of biodynamic viticulture.

David Léclapart we take great care to preserve the natural balance of our ecosystem, using no chemicals either in the vineyard or in the cellar. This respectful approach enables L'Apôtre to express with purity the singularity of its terroir and the living energy of each vintage.

Ruinart the oldest Champagne house

About this house

David Léclapart is one of Champagne's most brilliant winemakers. His innovative, environmentally-friendly know-how inspires many young winemakers.

David was one of the very first in Champagne and in France to take an interest in organic viticulture. In 1996, he began converting the 3 hectares of vines on his estate in Trépail to organic methods.

In 1998, he was awarded Demeter certification, and set about crafting champagnes of elegance and finesse, with particularly silky bubbles. David Léclapart produces only non-dosed, vintage champagnes, like snapshots of his Trépail terroir.
