The Structure

Discover the structure of this Champagne

Freshness

Harmonious balance that exists between the different components of acidity.

Roundness

Soft Champagne easy to drink, the acidity does not hurt the mouth.

Strength

Generous champagne, with a great intensity.

Length in mouth

The aromas of Champagne persist in the mouth.

The Tasting

In a fine and joyful effervescence, the intensity of the crystalline gold robe evokes the yellow diamond.

On the nose, the rectilinear purity of this vintage is vivid. As it warms in the glass, Rare Millésime 2008 unfolds infinitely fragrant accords of orange blossom, hyacinth and white flowers. Then vanilla flower, a touch of fresh coconut, aromas of Williams pear and almond.

On the palate, the aromatic sensations are multiplied: notes of fresh pineapple, just cut, passion fruit, kiwi, coconut and sour citrus. Finally, the finish, punctuated with salinity, remarkable and iodized, prolongs this discovery of a pure and infinite spring.

Terroir-Champagne-Ruinart

Terroirs

Montagne de Reims

Rare Champagne breaks the codes by choosing chardonnays from the Montagne de Reims, essentially known for pinot noir, which bring an incredible precise minerality.

It also gives preference to Pinot Noirs from the Montagne de Reims, rich with a velvety intensity and a pure and silky texture.

Ruinart la plus ancienne maison de Champagne

About this house

For the centenary of the presentation of the first Piper-Heidsieck prestige cuvée to Queen Marie-Antoinette, a limited series of bottles was published in 1885: the cuvée du centenaire. Pierre-Karl Fabergé, the jeweler of Tsar Alexander III, designed the spectacular enamel decoration.

Unfortunately, the techniques of the time did not allow to execute it, the glass of the bottles being too fragile. A label faithfully reproducing the design was then affixed to the bottles of this exclusive edition. This centenary vintage prefigures Rare Champagne.
