The blend draws from Champagne's most mineral vineyards: Chardonnays from Avize, Vertus and Villers-Marmery, Pinots Noirs from the Montagne de Reims (Ambonnay, Aÿ), with the addition of a red wine from Bouzy for colour and aromatic depth.

About this house

Rare Champagne, the prestige cuvée of Piper-Heidsieck founded in 1785, is only vinified in truly exceptional years — barely a dozen vintages across forty years of existence. Each bottle is a work of art in its own right, the Rosé paying homage to the geometric abstraction of Mondrian.

The 2008 vintage, unanimously acclaimed as one of the decade's finest, endowed this rosé with an extraordinary natural acidity and rare concentration. Aged for over ten years on lees before disgorgement in July 2018, this cuvée embodies the house philosophy: patience as the very condition of excellence.
