Terroirs

The Pinot Noir is sourced from Grands and Premiers Crus of the Montagne de Reims (Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzenay) and the Vallée de la Marne, complemented by Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. The rosé colour is achieved by the addition of 4 to 8% red wine produced from old vines on the Côte d'Aÿ, including the historic plot « Meurtet », which benefits from an exceptional aspect.

About this house

Founded in 1838 in Aÿ by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, Deutz is one of the rare grande marque Champagne houses to remain anchored at the heart of a Grand Cru, granting it privileged access to the finest Pinot Noir terroirs. Part of the Deutz group since 1993, it nevertheless retains its own identity and exacting standards.

The house style — precise, elegant, and focused on finesse rather than display — expresses itself with remarkable consistency from the entry-level cuvées to the William Deutz prestige wine. The crafting of the Brut Rosé, with its discreet contribution of red wine from the « Meurtet » plot, perfectly illustrates this constant pursuit of nuance and terroir.
