A lively citrus quality driven by the Chardonnay, with a fine acidity that underpins the whole.
Roundness
The reserve wines and Pinot Meunier lend a silky, generous texture on the palate.

Length
A persistent finish of candied citrus and brioche, the hallmark of a successful ageing on the lees.

TASTING NOTES

A golden robe with green highlights, shot through with fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, elegance and freshness intertwine: Williams pear, citrus fruits, white flowers and a delicate hint of brioche. The palate opens with a lively, silky attack; the balance between the minerality of the Chardonnay and the roundness of the Pinots is impeccable, leading to a persistent finish of dried fruits and chalk.

Deutz

About this house

Founded in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann in Aÿ, at the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, Maison Deutz has established itself as one of the defining references of Champenois elegance. Its 3 kilometres of galleries carved 20 metres deep into the chalk are the very embodiment of its philosophy: patience and precision.

Joined in 1993 to the Deutz family group under the stewardship of the Rouzaud family, Deutz produces 2.5 million bottles distributed across more than 40 countries, whilst maintaining a distinctly recognisable house style: balance, purity and timeless finesse.

Food pairing

The perfect pairing

Between the champagne and its dish
Aperitif

Aperitif

Its vivacity and fine bubble make it the ideal companion to freshly baked comté gougères, served piping hot.

Starter

Starter

The bright citrus acidity of the Chardonnay finds perfect resonance with a gravlax of salmon with citrus and fresh herbs.

Main course

Main course

The roundness of the reserve wines pairs elegantly with a green asparagus risotto, whose gentle bitterness calls beautifully to the champagne's minerality.
