THE CUVÉES OF MAISON BARONS DE ROTHSCHILD
Pale gold in colour with brilliantly luminous silver highlights. The nose opens on fresh citrus — Menton lemon, grapefruit — interwoven with white blossom and a subtle hint of vanilla brioche inherited from the barrel ageing. On the palate, the attack is precise and vibrant, the chalky tension carrying a finish of exceptional length across candied zests and gun-flint.

Sourced from a historic 52-are clos at Vertus, a Premier Cru of the Côte des Blancs, planted as early as 1910 on the chalky limestone soils that define the identity of Champagne Chardonnay. Vinified entirely in oak barrels, aged for 13 months on fine lees, then 55 months in bottle before disgorgement.
Founded in 2005 through the union of the Lafite, Mouton and Edmond de Rothschild family branches, Maison Barons de Rothschild brings to Champagne the exacting standards of its great Bordeaux estates: precision in winemaking, depth of terroir, and the patience of time.
In 2013, the Maison acquired Le Grand Clos, a walled 52-are plot in Vertus. For its 20th anniversary, it was vinified separately for the first time, yielding just 1,788 numbered bottles — a founding act that reveals the house's ambition for single-vineyard expression.
Its chalky minerality and fine effervescence make a sublime match at aperitif with the golden richness of small cheese gougères.
The lively citrus character of the Chardonnay cuts beautifully through the silky fat of salmon, creating a pairing of freshness and precision.
The mineral purity of Le Grand Clos marries elegantly with the buttery delicacy of sole meunière — a classic pairing from the Champenois table.
