About this house
Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, Moët & Chandon is today the largest Champagne house in the world and a flagship of the LVMH group. The house owns more than 1,100 hectares of vineyards and some 28 kilometres of cellars beneath the slopes of Épernay, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Moët & Chandon served as the official supplier to Napoleon Bonaparte and has accompanied the great royal, sporting and cultural celebrations of the world throughout the centuries. Brut Impérial, launched in 1869 as a tribute to the house's enduring friendship with the Emperor, remains its undisputed ambassador in more than 150 countries.
