Rosé champagne: a celebration of colour
Rosé champagne is produced in two ways. The most common method, known as ‘assemblage’, involves adding 5 to 20 per cent of red Champagne to a clear white wine before the second fermentation begins — a method that ensures consistent colour and style from one year to the next. The second method, ‘rosé de saignée’, colours the juice through maceration of the skins.
These methods produce champagnes with delicate hues and aromas of red fruits — strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant. Perfect for an elegant aperitif, a gourmet meal or a sumptuous dessert, they add a splash of colour to your celebrations.
