THE CUVÉES OF MAISON TAITTINGER
A deep salmon robe with coppery glints, threaded with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose opens on Montmorency cherry, wild strawberry, vineyard peach and blood orange, underscored by a gentle brioche note drawn from twelve years of maturation on lees. The palate is broad and creamy, with the sun-drenched generosity characteristic of the 2009 vintage, closing on a long finish of warm spice and chalky minerality.

A 100% Grand Cru assemblage: 70% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims (of which 12% is vinified as red wine from Bouzy to enrich the tannic structure) and 30% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Aged for over twelve years on lees in the Gallo-Roman chalk cellars of Saint-Nicaise in Reims.
Founded in 1734, Champagne Taittinger is one of the rare great Champagne houses to remain family-owned. With 288 hectares of vineyards — a significant proportion of which are classified as Grands and Premiers Crus — it brings to its assemblages a floral, airy signature carried by Chardonnay, the house's favoured cépage.
The Comtes de Champagne, Taittinger's absolute prestige cuvée, is produced only in exceptional years. The 2009 Rosé, born of a remarkable summer in Champagne, embodies the house's dual nature: the elegance inherited from the Côte des Blancs Chardonnay and the fruit-driven depth of Montagne de Reims Pinot Noir. More than twelve years of cellaring have sculpted a complexity rarely achieved in the region.
Its delicate bubbles and red fruit notes pair beautifully with warm Gruyère gougères.
The richness of foie gras finds its perfect foil in this prestige rosé's fruity character and bright acidity.
Lobster, noble enough to match this exceptional vintage, brings out the creamy texture and aromatic power of the wine at their finest.

I couldn’t resist, and I have absolutely no regrets. Notes of dried fruit and honey – superb. No complaints about the delivery. The sort of bottle that everyone agrees on.
