Terroirs

A blend of Pinot Noir from the Grands Crus of the Montagne de Reims and Chardonnay from the Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs, with 12% still red Pinot Noir wine lending its deep salmon colour and aromatic depth. Aged for more than twelve years in the Gallo-Roman cellars of Reims, hewn directly from the Champenois chalk.

About this house

Taittinger is one of the rare grandes maisons de Champagne to remain family-owned, founded in 1734 and taken over by Pierre Taittinger in 1945. Based in Reims, it owns more than 290 hectares of vines — the majority of which are Grands and Premiers Crus — an exceptional heritage in the region.

The Taittinger style is defined by a predominance of Chardonnay, the hallmark of finesse and freshness. The Comtes de Champagne has represented the pinnacle of the house since 1952: a prestige cuvée aged for many years in the Gallo-Roman cellars of Reims, the embodiment of understated luxury and Champenois precision.
