Terroirs

A blend drawn from 25 to 50 crus across the three great zones of Champagne — Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne — with 20 to 25% reserve wines ensuring continuity of the Ruinart house style. The Blanc de Blancs draws its citrus-driven tension from the chalky terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, the heartland of the Maison's Chardonnay philosophy.

About this house

Founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, Maison Ruinart is the oldest Champagne house in the world. Based in Reims, it relies on Roman chalk cellars dating from the 3rd century — listed as a historic monument — whose eight kilometres of galleries ensure ideal ageing at a constant 10 °C.

Acquired by LVMH in 1963, Ruinart has consistently cultivated a philosophy centred on Chardonnay, under the direction of chef de caves Frédéric Panaïotis since 2007. The Cave Urbaine, a contemporary showcase clad in recycled chalk-paper sourced from the crayères, embodies the house's commitment to sustainability without conceding an inch of elegance.
