TASTING NOTES

A golden robe with amber glints, lifted by a fine, persistent effervescence. On the nose, candied mirabelle, elderflower and a hint of toasted bread weave together with a mineral undercurrent evoking sun-warmed clay. The palate opens with a broad, vinous attack; the generous flesh of the 2015 Meunier extends into a spiced and hazelnut-laced finish — precise, with not a trace of sweetness.

About this house

Founded in 1971 at Crouttes-sur-Marne by Pierre Courtois, the estate is today guided by his son Michael, the third generation, across a 6-hectare vineyard in the Vallée de la Marne. Every stage of production — from vine to disgorgement — is carried out on the estate, a mark of rare coherence and authenticity in the region.

In 2019, Michael Courtois built his new cellar from pisé made with the very earth of the vineyard, a project recognised with the TERRA AWARD 2016. This intimate bond between building and terroir embodies the house philosophy: respect for nature, sustainable practice, and faithful expression of place — right down to the name of this cuvée, Terra Nostra, 'our land'.
