I fell in love with it straight away. Aromas of brioche and ripe apple. Definitely one to make again.

THE CUVÉES OF MAISON DAVID LÉCLAPART
Golden robe with luminous green highlights. The nose offers a restrained intensity of ripe stone fruits and citrus zest, opening with aeration into brioche and toasted almond. On the palate, a generous, fleshy roundness is underpinned by a precisely chiselled acidity, culminating in a saline, taut finish of rare persistence.

Single-vineyard plot 'La Pierre Saint-Martin' in Trépail (Premier Cru, Montagne de Reims), on drained argilo-calcareous soils laced with flint. The Chardonnay vines, planted in 1946, benefit from a natural freshness imparted by the forest canopy of the mountain, ensuring a slow and progressive ripening.
David Léclapart stands as one of the defining figures of artisan grower Champagne. Based in Trépail, he has farmed his vines according to certified biodynamic principles since 2000, with no chemical inputs either in the vineyard or the cellar, in pursuit of an expression of terroir of absolute purity.
His cuvées — L'Apôtre, L'Artiste, L'Amateur — are portraits of individual plots. Celebrated by international critics and vanishingly rare on the market, they rank among the most sought-after Champagnes in the world: Richard Juhlin placed L'Apôtre 2004 among the hundred greatest Champagnes of the century.
The fine bead and mineral tension of this Blanc de Blancs harmonise beautifully with the delicacy of a comté gougère.
The saline vivacity of Trépail's Chardonnay enters into elegant dialogue with the sweet brininess of hand-dived scallops.
The richness and length of L'Apôtre reach their zenith alongside the noble flesh of lobster.

Verified customer reviewMagnificent
We opened a bottle for our New Year’s Eve dinner. It was wonderfully fresh, without ever being sour. The gift wrapping was immaculate. Hats off to the whole team.
