A blend drawn exclusively from Pinot Noir sourced from the Grand Cru villages of Bouzy and Tours-sur-Marne, two landmark crus of the Montagne de Reims celebrated for the aromatic richness and fleshy structure of their Pinot Noir. The clay-chalk soils lend the wine its depth and backbone.

About this house

Founded in Avize (Côte des Blancs) by Manuel De Sousa, a Portuguese soldier who settled in Champagne after the First World War, the house is today run by the third generation — Charlotte, Valentin and Julie. It was Erick De Sousa who, in the 1980s, elevated the domaine to the highest level by pioneering parcel-by-parcel vinification and establishing Grand Cru Chardonnay from Avize as the house's defining signature.

A trailblazer of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne, the house achieved Organic Agriculture certification in 2010, followed by Demeter certification in 2013. The vines have been worked by horse since 2010, and twelve sheep graze the parcels throughout the season. This Blanc de Noirs — 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundian-character terroirs on the Montagne de Reims — embodies Erick De Sousa's enduring curiosity for the most unexpected expressions the Champenois vineyard has to offer.
