Aromatic profile

The structure of this champagne

Four dimensions to capture its balance
Freshness
Vivid and crystalline, driven by the dominance of Chardonnay and the chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs.
Roundness
A delicate silkiness contributed by the Pinot Noirs from Bouzy and Ambonnay, without ever weighing down the line.
Power
A Champagne of elegance rather than power, defined by mineral tension rather than density.
Length
A saline, iodine-tinged finish of real persistence, with a returning echo of citrus and white chalk that is the unmistakable signature of the house.

TASTING NOTES

A luminous pale gold robe, shot through with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is pure and airy: fresh citrus (lemon, grapefruit), white blossom, and a gentle brioche note that emerges after 36 months on lees. On the palate, the attack is precise and nervy, the texture silky, with the chalky minerality characteristic of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger drawing the finish towards notes of chalk and candied zest.

Terroirs

Drawn primarily from the grand crus of the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant, Avize) for the Chardonnay, complemented by Pinot Noirs from the Montagne de Reims (Bouzy, Ambonnay, Tours-sur-Marne). The blend incorporates several reserve vintages to guarantee the consistency and depth of the Delamotte house style.

Delamotte

About this house

Founded in 1760, Delamotte is one of the oldest Champagne houses. Based in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, it placed its faith in Chardonnay as the backbone of its style from the very beginning — a forward-thinking vision that remains its signature two and a half centuries on.

Since 1988, Delamotte has been part of the Laurent-Perrier group and shares its cellars with the legendary house of Salon. Chef de caves Michel Fauconnet, trained over twenty years under Alain Terrier, stewards both houses with the same rigour: precise single-plot selections, extended ageing, and an unwavering commitment to purity.

Food pairing

The perfect pairing

Between the champagne and its dish
Aperitif

Aperitif

Its citrus freshness and delicate effervescence are a natural match for warm gougères, drawing out the richness of the cheese without ever overpowering it.

Starter

The bright acidity of the Chardonnay chimes perfectly with the citrus notes of gravlax, elevating the delicacy of the cured salmon.

Main course

Main course

A classic pairing par excellence: the chalky minerality of Delamotte Brut marries the beurre noisette of a Dover sole in a partnership of absolute elegance.
