Perfect for marking the occasion. Fresh and indulgent, with a lovely balance. No complaints about the organisation. Flawless – well done.

THE CUVÉES OF MAISON FRANÇOISE BEDEL
A golden robe with amber highlights, animated by a fine, persistent mousse. The nose reveals intense aromas of candied white fruits, dried apricot and honey, lifted by a hint of hazelnut and gentle spice. On the palate, the attack is round and generous, full in body, before a chalky minerality takes over in a long, subtly earthy finish.

Vines aged between 30 and 70 years, planted on the clay-limestone soils and siliceous silts of Chézy-sur-Marne (Aisne), farmed biodynamically under ECOCERT certification since 1999. The diversity of the plots — varying aspects and soil depths, all underlain by chalk — feeds the complexity of this cuvée.
Françoise Bedel, a pioneer of biodynamics in Champagne, founded her domaine in 1980 in Crouttes-sur-Marne, in the Aisne. From 1997, she committed her 8.4 hectares of vines to a living, biodynamic approach, achieving ECOCERT certification in 1999 — among the very first in Champagne to do so.
Her philosophy: to let the vitality of the soil and its telluric energy speak, producing wines of true character, deeply rooted in their terroir. Pinot Meunier, the dominant variety of the Vallée de la Marne, finds here a complexity and depth rarely encountered, far removed from the standardised blends of the region.
Its roundness and candied fruit notes are the perfect foil for golden gougères, a classic pairing of Champenois tradition.
The aromatic Pinot Meunier enters into elegant dialogue with the citrus and fresh herbs of a salmon gravlax.
The generous roundness and earthy notes of this biodynamic cuvée respond perfectly to the deep umami of morel mushrooms.
