It really lives up to its reputation. Powerful yet delicate. The follow-up by email is a real bonus. Hats off to the whole team.

THE CUVÉES OF MAISON A. BERGÈRE
Pale straw robe with golden highlights, fine and persistent bubbles. On the nose, a highly expressive bouquet of pineapple, ripe citrus and white peach, lifted by gentle autolytic notes of brioche and hazelnut. On the palate, a generous surge of fruit opens the attack, before chalk dust takes over and leads to a long, mineral finish.

Chardonnay sourced from the terroirs of the Vallée du Petit Morin (Fèrebrianges, Étoges, Congy) and the Sézannais, on deep chalky soils. Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and 228-litre oak barrels, with extended ageing on the lees.
The Bergère family has been tending its vines on the hillsides of the Vallée du Petit Morin since 1848. It was in 1949 that Albert Bergère founded the eponymous Maison to better showcase the family's terroirs, establishing his shop on the avenue de Champagne in Épernay.
Today, Adrien Bergère has led the estate as chef de caves since 2014, armed with an oenology degree. He crafts his cuvées across 45 hectares divided into 139 individual plots spanning the Côte des Blancs, the Vallée du Petit Morin and the Sézannais, with the ambition of revealing the full richness of these singular terroirs.
Its fruity vivacity and gentle minerality make it an ideal companion to warm gougères, whose melted cheese echoes the buttery roundness of the cuvée.
The chalky minerality of this blanc de blancs magnifies the briny flavours of oysters and underscores their natural freshness.
The complexity developed through the Solera pairs beautifully with the earthy, creamy richness of a morel mushroom risotto.
