THE CUVÉES OF MAISON A. BERGÈRE
Pale yellow in the glass with golden and citrine highlights, the effervescence is fine and persistent. On the nose, honeycomb aromas open onto crisp peach, mirabelle plum, white flowers and honeysuckle. The palate is elegant and creamy on the attack, underpinned by a lemony tension characteristic of the terroir, before a beautiful mineral finish of ripe peach and nectarine.

Étoges, in the Vallée du Petit Morin, is a limestone-flint terroir that lends the Chardonnay its incisive minerality and natural vivacity. This single-vineyard cuvée is drawn exclusively from old vines planted in 1972 — more than fifty years of deep roots that deliver remarkable complexity and concentration.
Rooted in Fèrebrianges in the Vallée du Petit Morin since 1848, Maison A. Bergère has sustained four generations of winemaking passion. It was in 1949 that Albert Bergère officially founded the domaine to champion these little-known limestone terroirs, later extended into the Côte des Blancs and the Sézannais by André Bergère from 1986 onwards.
Since 2014, Adrien Bergère, trained as an oenologist, has conducted the winemaking with exemplary parcel-by-parcel rigour: hand-harvesting at optimal ripeness, gravitational settling at 16 °C, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, mixed ageing in stainless steel and cask, with no filtration or fining before bottling. His sister Annaëlle runs the boutique and guest house on the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay.
The brioche and floral notes of this Extra Brut cuvée pair beautifully with the light, flaky pastry and melted cheese of gougères.
The limestone-flint minerality and ultra-low dosage of 1 g/L make this cuvée a classic and striking match for fresh, briny oysters.
The creamy texture and lemony freshness of this Blanc de Blancs elevate the buttery delicacy of a sole meunière au champagne.
