TASTING NOTES

Golden robe with green highlights, fine and persistent mousse. On the nose, the bouquet is opulent: toasted bread, caramel and fully ripe stone fruits — Golden apple, mirabelle plum — framed by assertive white flowers, with a subtle woody nuance from partial oak ageing. On the palate, the wine is vinous, generous and broad, with a remarkable length that lingers on a noble, chalky bitterness — the hallmark of Oger's finest terroirs.

Terroirs

Sourced from Grand Cru plots in Oger, at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, planted with old vines, some dating back to the 1920s: the deep chalk soils lend the Chardonnay its distinctive minerality, natural tension and exceptional ageing potential.

A. Bergère

About this house

Founded in 1949 by Albert Bergère, the house draws its roots from a family vineyard established in the Vallée du Petit Morin as early as 1848. Three generations on, André Bergère upholds this tradition of uncompromising quality, developing plots across the Côte des Blancs — Oger, Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger — and favouring single-vineyard expression over systematic blending.

Since 2014, Adrien Bergère, a trained oenologist, has joined his father at the helm of the cellar. Together, they practise precision viticulture — harvesting at peak ripeness, plot-by-plot vinification and partial barrel ageing — to craft champagnes of character and identity, produced in confidential quantities.

Its fine mousse and chalky minerality pair beautifully with the yielding warmth of gougères at the opening of a prestige dinner.

The salinity of Oger's terroir resonates directly with the briny freshness of an oyster straight from the sea.

The power and generosity of this Grand Cru elegantly support the sweet brininess and richness of butter-roasted lobster.
