TASTING NOTES

Deep golden robe with amber glints, enlivened by a fine, persistent stream of bubbles. On the nose, complexity unfolds between mandarine and candied lemon, ripe yellow peach, toasted brioche and wafts of pain d'épices. On the palate, the attack is broad and creamy: the substance of the 2015 vintage reveals itself in a precise balance of chalky minerality, quince jelly and a subtle hint of curry in a very long finish.

Drappier

About this house

Drappier is a family house founded in 1808 in Urville, at the heart of the Côte des Bar in the Aube. Led by Michel Drappier in the seventh generation, it crafts its Champagnes in twelfth-century cellars hewn beneath the Cistercian abbey of Clairvaux, faithful to a style centred on Pinot Noir.

A pioneer in sustainable viticulture — HVE certified and committed to reducing sulphites — Drappier unites Champenois tradition with ecological rigour. La Grande Sendrée, its prestige cuvée created in 1975, embodies the fullest expression of this singular terroir, forever marked by the fire of 1838.
