Terroirs

A singular blend: 93% Chardonnay from the Grands Crus of Chouilly and Montgueux, vinified in stainless steel, married to 7% Pinot Noir from Les Riceys, partially aged in oak — 36 months on lees over chalky soils farmed under Demeter-certified biodynamics.

Leclerc Briant

About this house

Founded in Épernay in 1872, Leclerc Briant is a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne: Demeter-certified since 2003, the house cultivates some 30 hectares of its own vineyards and sources from a further 20 hectares farmed organically, under the direction of winemaker Hervé Jestin.

With a resolutely nature-driven, terroir-led philosophy, the house eschews all chemical inputs and favours minimalist dosages — never exceeding Extra Brut — to allow the chalky Champenois limestone to express itself in all its purity.
