THE CUVÉES OF MAISON CHARLES HEIDSIECK
The colour is pale gold with gilded highlights, animated by a fine and persistent effervescence. The nose opens on fresh notes of mint and white fruits — pear, apple — complemented by citrus, gentle spice and an elegant touch of smokiness; with aeration, enticing brioche and patisserie notes emerge. The palate reveals itself structured and taut, with a lively acidity underpinning a fleshy, seductive texture, culminating in a long, mineral and penetrating finish.

A blend of 10 Grands and Premiers Crus — Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Avize, Oger, Vertus, Tauxières, Avenay and Louvois — marrying the mineral rigour of the Côte des Blancs with the fleshy depth of the Montagne de Reims. After nine years of ageing on lees in the Crayères de Reims, the cuvée reveals the full complexity of this atypical vintage.
Founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck — the legendary 'Champagne Charlie' — the house is established in Reims within the spectacular Crayères, ancient Gallo-Roman galleries hewn from the chalk, which provide ideal ageing conditions at a constant temperature of 10 °C.
Under the direction of cellar master Thierry Roset, Charles Heidsieck upholds a philosophy of complex blends built upon exceptional reserve wines. The house is regularly distinguished among the benchmarks of Champagne: its Brut Réserve has claimed the title of 'Best Non-Vintage Champagne' on multiple occasions at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
