Bought for a friend who’s a wine enthusiast. Full-bodied on the palate, with a refreshing finish. A real treat – well done once again.

THE CUVÉES OF MAISON LOUIS ROEDERER
A golden robe with green highlights, threaded with a fine and persistent mousse. On the nose, fresh brioche mingles with Williams pear, golden apple and a hint of candied lemon zest, lifted by a delicate floral touch. On the palate, the texture is precise and taut: a beautiful chalky energy frames the mid-palate, whilst the reserve wines lend roundness and complexity, leading to a long, saline finish.

The blend draws from Champagne's three great terroirs — Côte des Blancs (Chardonnay), Montagne de Reims (Pinot Noir) and Vallée de la Marne (Meunier) —, unified by a perpetual solera started in 2012, the backbone of the Collection range since it replaced Brut Premier.
Founded in 1776 in Reims and remaining independent for seven generations, Louis Roederer is one of the exceedingly rare grandes maisons to cultivate nearly 70% of its own supply across 240 hectares of estate vineyards, ensuring complete mastery over its raw material.
Under the direction of Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, the house has committed to reasoned and biodynamic viticulture since 2004. Collection 243, a reinvention of the former Brut Premier launched in 2012, embodies this philosophy: a vintage-dated blend, a solera of reserve wines, and the expression of each harvest with the precision of a master craftsman.
The chalky vivacity and brioche notes of Collection 243 are a natural match for perfectly golden gougères.
The refinement of the Chardonnay and the saline tension of the champagne bring out the delicate flesh of sea bass carpaccio.
The freshness and roundness of the cuvée enter into perfect dialogue with the vegetal, earthy velvet of an asparagus risotto.
