THE CUVÉES OF MAISON LOUISE BRISON
Pale golden robe with a subtly burnished hue, fine and persistent bead. On the nose, a floral opening of acacia and white blossom, followed by candied citrus and a gentle buttery, vanilla note drawn from barrel ageing. On the palate, the attack is crisp and mineral, held taut by a complete absence of dosage; the generosity of the 2012 vintage then unfolds with considerable breadth, closing on a long, saline finish of toasted almond.

Vines rooted in the Kimmeridgian soils of the Côte des Bar (Aube), a finely chalky clay-limestone subsoil that lends Chardonnay its characteristic mineral tension and vivacity. The Blanc de Blancs blend is drawn from a rigorous selection of plots farmed under certified Organic Agriculture.
Maison Louise Brison is a small family domaine in the Côte des Bar (Aube), run with quiet conviction and an absolute respect for terroir. Committed to responsible viticulture, the estate began its organic conversion in 2017 and received full Agriculture Biologique certification from the 2020 vintage.
True to a resolutely zero-dosage philosophy, Louise Brison produces only vintage cuvées, aged in oak barrels and released after a minimum of six years on lees. A rare approach in Champagne, crafted for wines of deep character and proven ageing potential.
Its incisive minerality and fine effervescence make it a natural aperitif companion, lifting the delicate cheesy richness of gougères to perfection.
The vibrant acidity and citrus notes of the Brut Nature engage elegantly with the fresh herbs and citrus of a salmon gravlax.
The richness and depth of this barrel-aged Blanc de Blancs finds an exceptional match in lobster, playing on the interplay of iodine and butter.

I had high expectations. Lovely depth, on a par with the top brands. Impeccable delivery, as usual. I’d give it 5 stars without a second thought.
