TASTING NOTES
The golden bottle conceals a generous champagne. The nose opens with warm brioche, ripe stone fruits and citrus blossom. The palate unfolds in successive layers: peach, apricot, lemon zest, vanilla and acacia honey. Rich yet balanced, it finishes with a lovely freshness and great length. Serve between 8 and 10 °C; it can be kept for seven to ten years.
The composition

Terroirs
Armand de Brignac is crafted in Chigny-les-Roses, in the Montagne de Reims, by the Cattier family. The Brut Gold blends pinot noir, chardonnay and meunier, sourced mainly from grand cru and premier cru vineyards, and three vintages: half comes from the harvest year, the other half from two older reserve wines. Dosage of 9 g/L, 12.5% vol. Each bottle is metallised, then dressed by hand with French pewter labels. This version is delivered in a black velvet pouch, in place of the lacquered case.
About this house
The Cattier family has been growing vines in Chigny-les-Roses since 1763; Jean-Jacques Cattier and his son Alexandre now craft Armand de Brignac. The brand was relaunched in 2006 with Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, who acquired it in 2014; since 2021, Moët Hennessy has held half of it and distributes it worldwide.
The Brut Gold, the "Ace of Spades", is the cuvée that made the house famous: a golden bottle recognisable among all others, a blend of three vintages and a measured dosage. In its velvet pouch, it is the simplest way to gift it.
The perfect pairing
Aperitif
A pairing recommended by the house: the brioche and honey of the Brut Gold meet the toasted notes of a long-aged Comté.
Starter
The citrus blossom and the freshness of the finish answer the iodine notes, as suggested by the house.
Main course
Butter-poached lobster, a pairing recommended by the house: the richness of the wine marries the flesh, its length lingers with the butter.
