Aromatic profile

The structure of this champagne

Four dimensions to capture its balance
Freshness
Zero dosage and lively acidity impart a mineral tension characteristic of Brut Nature Champagnes from old-vine Meunier.
Roundness
Nine months' ageing in oak casks on the lees contributes a silky texture that tempers the vivacity of the zero-dosage style.
Depth
The maturity of the old vines in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon lends complexity and depth without excess body.
Length on the Palate
The mineral and fruity finish lingers with persistence, carried by the vertical drive of the Brut Nature.

TASTING NOTES

Pale rose in colour with luminous salmon highlights, threaded with a fine and persistent effervescence. The nose is expressive and precise, revealing crisp red fruits — redcurrant, raspberry — intertwined with delicate florals, fresh citrus and subtle sweet spice. The palate is taut and fresh, with a beautiful minerality, and a long finish that leaves a fruity, lightly saline impression.

Terroirs

Sourced from the La Brusse parcel (planted in 1984) and Les Pierreuses (planted in 1992), in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon in the Vallée de la Marne, on clay-limestone and flint soils that lend the Meunier a rare mineral and airy character.

Éric Taillet

About this house

Champagne Éric Taillet is based in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, at the heart of the Vallée du Belval, in the Vallée de la Marne. The house has built a reputation for excellence by devoting itself almost exclusively to Pinot Meunier, the historic grape of this terroir, expressed through single-parcel cuvées of remarkable precision.

Committed to reasoned viticulture on old vines, Éric Taillet matures his Champagnes in oak casks and pursues a pure expression of place. Each cuvée is a manifesto: to establish Meunier as a truly great Champagne variety, without compromise or artifice.
