Champagne René Rutat is a family récoltant-manipulant established in Vertus since 1960, at the heart of the Premier Cru de la Côte des Blancs. The estate covers 7 hectares across 28 plots, planted to 90% Chardonnay — the defining grape of this appellation.

Flavien and Baptiste Rutat, fifth-generation artisan vignerons, embarked on organic conversion in 2016 (certified in 2019) and returned to barrel fermentation with indigenous yeasts — an approach that lends their vintages a remarkable authenticity and precision.
