TASTING NOTES
The colour is a brilliant yellow with discreet golden highlights, enlivened by a fine, persistent bead. On the nose, the cuvée unfolds aromas of warm brioche, fresh walnut and dried apricot, underpinned by a hint of candied lemon zest. The palate is rich and creamy, carried by the chalky minerality characteristic of the Côte des Blancs, and closes on a long finish of dried fruits and candied citrus.
The composition

Terroirs
100% Chardonnay sourced from the finest Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots of the Côte des Blancs — Cramant, Avize and Grauves — blended across multiple vintages with reserve wines to ensure both complexity and consistency. Ageing exceeds six years in the cellar before disgorgement, revealing the calcareous depth of the Champagne terroir.
About this house
Founded in 2005 in Avize by brothers Guillaume, Richard and Rodolphe Frerejean-Taittinger, the house has established itself as one of the leading artisan references of the Côte des Blancs. Heirs to a dual lineage — the Taittinger family on their mother's side, and the Frerejean master craftsmen of Champagne (cannon founders for Napoleon's armies since 1778) on their father's — they have combined viticultural passion with entrepreneurial spirit.
The house philosophy rests on low dosage, extended ageing and a rigorous selection of Premier and Grand Cru plots. Their inaugural cuvée, the Cuvée des Hussards 2005, was unveiled in 2011 after six years of patience. In 2025, to mark their 20th anniversary, they launched a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs from old vines, confirming their ascent to the very summit of Champagne craftsmanship.
The perfect pairing
Aperitif
Its fine bead and chalky minerality make it the ideal companion to warm cheese gougères served as an aperitif.
Starter
The wine's citrus freshness and creamy texture marry beautifully with the smoky, tangy notes of citrus-cured gravlax.
Main course
The roundness of the Blanc de Blancs and its long mineral finish elevate the delicate, vegetal sweetness of a green asparagus risotto.
