La Cuvée (€40.50) is the entry-level expression of the Laurent-Perrier style: fresh and dominated by Chardonnay. The Cuvée Rosé (€75.90), a 100 per cent Pinot Noir macerated rosé created in 1968, is Champagne’s most recognisable rosé; the Ultra Brut (€54.90) was the first modern brut nature. Grand Siècle (€200 to €260), a blend of three great vintages, and Alexandra Rosé 2012 (€389) top the range.
A rosé bottle shaped like Henri IV’s flask, a sugar-free brut dating back to 1981, a prestige cuvée that eschews vintage years: Laurent-Perrier has pioneered more innovations than most Champagne houses. La Cuvée, Cuvée Rosé, Ultra Brut, Grand Siècle, Alexandra Rosé: our guide, cuvée by cuvée, with current prices.

Few houses have been as innovative. Laurent-Perrier, founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne and revived after 1949 by Bernard de Nonancourt, launched the first macerated rosé from a major house (1968), the first modern brut nature (1981) and the only prestige cuvée built on a blend of several vintages, Grand Siècle. Chardonnay makes up the majority of the blend, freshness is a guiding principle, and the de Nonancourt family still holds the reins. This guide reviews the cuvées available in our cellar, along with their current prices.
Made from the purest grape juice, La Cuvée offers notes of fresh citrus, white flowers and a delicate hint of brioche on a lively attack. An aperitif champagne at €40.50, or in a magnum presented in a gift box (€88.80) for a large gathering.
A pioneer in the brut nature category since 1981,the Ultra Brut expresses champagne in its purest form: chalk, lemon, grapefruit, white flowers, with no added sugar. €54.90. The Blanc de Blancs Nature (€89.90) takes this concept further with 100 per cent Chardonnay: chalky minerality, lemon zest, jasmine, green apple, and a taut, briny palate. To understand how dosage affects the wine, see our guide to brut, extra-brut and demi-sec.
Launched in 1968 in a bottle inspired by those of Henri IV, the Cuvée Rosé is a 100 per cent Pinot Noir blend from around ten crus in the Montagne de Reims — Ambonnay, Bouzy, Louvois, Tours-sur-Marne — derives its colour from maceration lasting 48 to 72 hours, rather than from the addition of red wine: raspberry, redcurrant, wild strawberry, black cherry; a clean and fresh palate. €75.90, €173 to €179 for a magnum (bare bottle or gift box). For more on the method, see our page on saignée rosé.
Each year, the house presents its Cuvée Rosé in a reusable gift box: the Bamboo Gown (€99), the Ribbons 2024 Gown (€99), the Petals edition (€98.50) and the Butterfly Metal (€95). The wine is the same; it’s the packaging that makes the gift.
Laurent-Perrier only produces vintage wines in exceptional years. The 2012 Vintage (€65) combines candied citrus, white peach, toasted brioche and almond; the 2015 Vintage Brut (€77.45) is sunnier, with notes of white flowers, candied citrus, honey and chalk. Even rarer are three ‘Réserve’ magnums disgorged on 15 May 2025 after a very long period on the lees: the 2006 (€289), with notes of honeyed pear and buttered brioche; the 2004 (€299), with notes of orange peel, toast and almond; the 2002 (€319), with notes of honey, dried fruit and chalk. Each comes in a wooden case — our guide to bottle sizes explains what the magnum brings to ageing.
Bernard de Nonancourt wanted to recreate ‘the perfect year’: Grand Siècle blends three great vintages from the finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir crus, and each blend is assigned a number. Grand Siècle No. 25 (€199.90) offers notes of lemon, grapefruit, toasted brioche and roasted almond;Iteration No. 26 (€239.95), ripe peach, quince, cherry blossom and warm pastries; the No. 24 Robe Lumière (€260) and No. 25 Robe Lumière (€221) feature an exquisite screen-printed design on the bottle. Héritage (€84.85), a blend of several vintages in the Grand Siècle spirit — flint, acacia, beeswax, verbena — is the gateway to this style. Featured in the campaign for this cuvée is our article on Morgan Freeman for Grand Siècle.
Created in 1987 for the wedding of Alexandra de Nonancourt and produced only ten times since, the Alexandra Rosé 2012 is the house’s prestige rosé: blood-orange colour, crushed strawberries, macerated berries, orange oil, petals, a hint of liquorice and juniper. €389, for a special occasion.
To sample the house’s range in three glasses, the ‘Les 3 Savoir-Faire’ set (€269) brings together, in an engraved wooden case, the Cuvée Rosé (made using maceration), the Blanc de Blancs Nature (un-dosaged) and the Héritage (blended). The group also owns Salon, in Mesnil-sur-Oger, for lovers of pure Chardonnay.
