Champagne: exceptional effervescence
Champagne is a sparkling wine produced exclusively in the Champagne appellation, in north-eastern France, using the traditional method (known as the ‘méthode champenoise’): a second fermentation in the bottle which creates its fine bubbles. It is made from three main grape varieties — Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier — grown from the Montagne de Reims to the Côte des Blancs.
Choosing your champagne by style
Depending on the blend, we distinguish between Blancs de Blancs (100 per cent Chardonnay, very delicate), Blancs de Noirs (Pinot Noir and Meunier, more structured), rosé champagnes and vintage cuvées, made from a single harvest year. The dosage — brut, extra-brut, brut nature — then refines the balance between liveliness and roundness.
At Pépites en Champagne, we bring together the finest champagnes from leading houses and independent producers, for every occasion: as an aperitif, for food and wine pairings, as a gift or for a special celebration. Discover our favourite wines from independent winemakers and let our expert advice guide you towards an informed purchase.
